Building Enclosure Consultant/Project Manager

Role Overview:
The ideal Building Enclosure Project Manager will bring a strong background and interest in building enclosure and envelope consulting for new and existing buildings. This role involves managing a range of projects, supporting senior staff, fostering client relationships, and overseeing the review of client deliverables, including technical content. Travel up to 25% outside the local area may be required, depending on project load.
Shift/Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8AM-5PM
Responsibilities:
- Consulting and Review: Assist with design consulting and peer review of building enclosure plans and specifications for both new and existing buildings.
- Drawings and Submittals: Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and submittals related to building enclosures.
- Field Testing: Assist with/perform field performance and water leakage testing of building enclosure systems.
- Construction Administration: Conduct shop drawing reviews, make site visits, and provide construction administration services.
- Forensic Investigation: Assist with/perform investigations and document existing conditions of building enclosure systems.
- Remediation Design: Provide support for remediation design of building enclosures.
- Collaboration: Work with staff on major design, inspection, or investigative projects.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare professionally written technical reports and produce sketches and mark-ups using Bluebeam or by hand.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Architectural Engineering with 3+ years' experience in building enclosure consulting/construction
- OR 5+ years of experience in building enclosure consulting/construction in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of building enclosure systems and construction; experience managing projects of varying sizes.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite, and Bluebeam.
- Physical Capabilities: Able to perform both office tasks and physical tasks, including work from ladders, boom-lifts, and scaffolds.
- Teamwork and Independence: Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Communication Skills: Strong technical writing and communication skills, along with consistent professional interaction with clients.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 25% outside the local area as required.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Registration: Professional registration or ability to obtain within one year.
- Field Experience: Experience with diverse building types and in investigating existing walls for leaks and other issues.
- Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with ASTM testing standards for exterior walls.
- Software Knowledge: Skills in Revit/BIM, Sketch-up, and thermal/hygrothermal software (e.g., THERM, WUFI).
- Certifications: Safety training or scaffold certification; Bluebeam proficiency is a plus.
