Job Description:
A leading contractor based in Massachusetts is seeking a full-time Project Manager to oversee multiple electrical utility distribution, substation construction, and solar field construction projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects of varying sizes, from under $1M to $25M, while working closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of project construction from start to finish.
- Lead and provide direction to the project team.
- Ensure timely delivery of day-to-day management services throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate and attend project planning, pre-design, and design meetings.
- Conduct site inspections, review designs, and ensure compliance with codes and contract requirements.
- Approve or reject submittals and monitor project progress in relation to the schedule and delivery dates.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and change orders.
- Track project progress against goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Monitor project expenses to ensure adherence to the approved budget.
Required:
- At least five (5) years of experience in construction management, with a focus on medium to high voltage transmission, substation construction, or solar projects preferred.
- A 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint; experience with construction management software (e.g., Primavera) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally.
- Experience in tracking and updating CPM schedules, RFIs, submittals, and payment analysis.
- OSHA safety training is preferred.
- Experience in managing large-scale projects or federal/state contracts, especially related to medium to high voltage distribution and substation construction.
