Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in either Sydney or Brisbane. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility-scale renewable energy projects, specifically in solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and wind. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from the early development stage through to grid connection, ensuring successful delivery of hybrid solar + BESS + wind projects exceeding 100MW.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar, BESS, wind) from inception to completion.
- Lead the early development stage, including site identification, feasibility studies, and resource assessment.
- Navigate development approval processes, including environmental assessments and permitting.
- Coordinate grid connection processes, liaising with network service providers and regulatory bodies.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Provide technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present project reports and documentation to stakeholders.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Proven experience with projects exceeding 100MW in size.
- Expertise in solar, BESS, and wind projects.
- Strong knowledge of early development stages, development approval processes, and grid connection processes.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Australian energy market regulations and standards is a plus.
