Job Summary: As the Project Development Manager for the Southeast Asia region, you will be responsible for leading and managing the development of waste management projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and operations, to ensure the successful execution of projects. This role requires a strong understanding of waste management technologies, local regulations, market dynamics, and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities:
Project Identification and Feasibility Assessment:
- Identify potential waste management project opportunities in Southeast Asia through market research, industry analysis, and networking.
- Conduct feasibility assessments to evaluate the technical, financial, and environmental viability of projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop business cases and investment proposals for selected projects.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, local communities, and industry partners.
- Represent the company in relevant industry forums, conferences, and meetings.
- Establish partnerships and negotiate agreements with potential project partners and suppliers.
Project Planning and Execution:
- Lead project planning activities, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
- Coordinate project development activities, ensuring adherence to budget, quality, and safety standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop project specifications and technical requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation of permits, licenses, and other regulatory approvals required for project implementation.
Financial Analysis and Funding:
- Conduct financial analysis, including cost estimation, revenue forecasting, and investment modeling for projects.
- Identify potential funding sources, including grants, loans, and public-private partnerships.
- Prepare and present investment proposals to internal and external stakeholders.
Project Documentation and Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of project activities, including contracts, agreements, and progress reports.
- Prepare regular reports on project status, milestones, and key performance indicators for management review.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic reports for investors, lenders, and regulatory authorities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project development, preferably in the waste management or renewable energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of waste management technologies, regulatory frameworks, and market trends in Southeast Asia.
- Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to analyze project feasibility, conduct financial assessments, and prepare investment proposals.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English. Proficiency in local languages is a plus.
- Ability to travel within the region as required.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on results.
