As a QEWI, you will handle all technical and management aspects related to delivering designs and
advancing projects to meet deadlines. You will also be responsible for maintaining all necessary
certifications required to perform your role as QEWI and acquiring any additional certifications as
necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage facade inspection and restoration projects, including Local Law 11 (FISP), fire escape, roofing, Parapet Inspections and TR inspections.
- Lead the office team in preparing façade drawings, reports, and inspection documentation.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to the team to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct analysis on building envelope systems, covering masonry, aluminum, glass, steel,precast concrete, and wood elements.
- Research and assess materials and systems to align with project requirements and building codes.
- Coordinate façade design details with architectural and structural teams.
- Perform site visits, review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Attend meetings with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to provide updates and ensure project alignment.
- Conduct NYC façade inspections in compliance with the Façade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP).
- Perform TR (Technical Report) inspections and ensure compliance with NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) regulations.
- File detailed façade and TR inspection reports via the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB NOW) system.
- Generate drawings, specifications, cost estimates
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in facade inspection, restoration, and building envelope systems.
Extensive knowledge of Local Law 11 (FISP), NYC DOB regulations, and TR (Technical Report) inspections.
Strong understanding of masonry, aluminum, glass, steel, precast concrete, and wood facade systems.
Experience with construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design and drafting software.
Familiarity with NYC DOB NOW filing system for reports and permits.

Certifications & Licenses (Preferred or Required):
Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license preferred.
Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) certification is required.
OSHA 30-hour certification or ability to obtain before starting.
