Position: Principal
The firm is looking for a talented Principal to join their team. This role involves leading interview presentations, building and nurturing client relationships, and supporting clients during public meetings. As a leader, you will motivate and inspire project teams, ensuring high morale and recognition. This position offers growth opportunities within the firm and exposure to an innovative, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the firm and maintain strong client relationships
- Act as the primary liaison between the team and clients/owners
- Lead project teams and consultants
- Ensure project success by overseeing scope, schedule, and budget
- Provide solutions for project and team challenges
- Define program requirements and establish project parameters based on client needs
- Offer long-term planning for clients and their future projects
- Develop overall project/design concepts and formulate presentation strategies
- Collaborate with consultants throughout design phases
- Maintain project budgets and communicate updates with owners
- Manage client interactions and decision-making related to projects
- Mentor, train, and guide project teams
Qualifications:
- Licensed Architect (preferably in Texas)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience
- Knowledge of local, state, and national building codes, regulations, and approval processes
- Understanding of public education in Texas
- Experience in all phases of project management and design, including long-term planning and budget management
- Familiarity with building materials, construction methods, costs, and applicable codes
- Awareness of current industry trends and future growth areas
- Public speaking experience
- Ability to manage client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination
- Evaluate design alternatives based on site and code requirements
- Experience in marketing, client interviews, and relationship building
- Proven ability to create and maintain a client network and leverage it into design opportunities
- Proficiency in bond program development and cost analysis
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership qualities
- Willingness to travel as needed
