Responsibilities
We are seeking a Civil Engineer with expertise in Green Infrastructure to lead and grow our water-focused and resiliency-focused practice in the region. The ideal candidate will offer support for projects related to water systems, stormwater management, and green infrastructure projects.
The position will focus primarily on the design of water infrastructure, including stormwater management systems and green infrastructure. The ideal candidate, however, should also have an interest and willingness to help our office grow by supporting projects that align with sustainable, holistic, and equitable water infrastructure practices.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, assisting our office in the following ways:
- Management of a compact team of engineering designers with a focus on growing from this core team
- Management of design projects focused on green infrastructure and water systems design for municipal clients and other partners
- Overseeing planning and conceptual design studies, including high-level analysis, writing of technical reports, and presentations
- Overseeing the progression of design from the schematic level to final construction documentation
- Performing technical reviews of deliverables, including design drawings, calculations, cost estimates, specifications, design reports, and permit application packages
- Project management duties including budgeting, workload projections, tracking schedules, and invoicing
- Collaboration with water resource engineers, environmental engineers, and other technical experts in surveying, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, and environmental sciences
- Coordination with internal project team members within the office and possibly across several regional offices, as well as subconsultants, public agencies, and clients, participation in project meetings, and assisting other teams in the office as needed
- Business development, including strategy, professional networking, meeting with potential clients, and proposal writing. The ideal candidate will help continue growing a team alongside other dynamic leaders passionate about improving communities through water infrastructure design and planning
Qualifications
- P.E. License
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering
- At least 10 years of relevant design experience in green infrastructure projects
- Project management experience
- Proficient in the necessary software and modeling programs
- Strong interest in a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to water-focused design
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
