We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II for our multi-disciplined Healthcare/Sciences Department.
Position Summary:
Support project managers and senior mechanical engineers in designing mechanical (HVAC) systems for various clients. Coordinate with the design team and Project Manager to execute project objectives efficiently. This hybrid position requires a minimum of 3 days per week in our Voorhees, NJ office.
Responsibilities:
- Design energy-efficient HVAC and mechanical systems per client requirements.
- Conduct load calculations and energy modeling using programs like eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, and Carrier HAP.
- Review projects to ensure standards and requirements align with client needs and project budgets.
- Use Revit to design, layout, and check mechanical and HVAC drawings for technical correctness.
- Coordinate with facility owners and architects, ensuring high levels of responsiveness and communication.
- Conduct shop drawing reviews and construction administration.
- Provide direction to less experienced Engineers in Training.
- Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide field construction support.
- Implement training development for engineers, designers, and draftspersons.
- Assist in proposal development, client management, and overall project execution.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of local, state, and national code requirements (NFPA, Joint Meeting).
- Experience with load analysis and energy modeling programs (eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, Carrier HAP).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Knowledge of USGBC LEED Rating system is a plus.
- Strong time management skills, comfortable with deadlines and transitions.
- Effective communication skills for complex ideas, technical writing, and documentation.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Education and Experience:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in designing mechanical/HVAC systems for critical care and/or laboratory facilities.
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred or working towards licensure.
