Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Cary, North Carolina
Overview: A leading engineering and architecture firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a background in Mechanical/HVAC Engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience in pharma, biotec, lab, and other health sciences design work, 8 years of experience, and their professional engineering license. There is also opportunity for a department leader role for the right candidate and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee mechanical/HVAC systems for facility expansions, renovations, and new construction projects.
- Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 individuals.
- Grow the mechanical engineering department through knowledge sharing and hiring.
- Apply advanced techniques to modify or extend standard procedures and design criteria.
- Supervise staff to complete project assignments within defined scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Review project documents for quality assurance.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, and project team members.
- Visit project sites to survey conditions and observe construction activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of industry engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards.
- Experience with critical environments and related building systems.
- Professional Engineer license.
