Title: Mechanical Designer
Location: Orlando, Florida
Salary: $75,000 - $100,000
Summary: The Mechanical Engineer/Designer will leverage their expertise to design mechanical engineering concepts that align with project visions in industries including aviation, office, higher education, and more. This role requires a solid understanding of the consulting engineering process and design within Revit.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope and create mechanical engineering designs (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
- Develop cost-effective system layouts and ensure code compliance.
- Prepare and coordinate BIM drawings across all project phases.
- Perform construction administration tasks, including site observations and shop drawing reviews.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and other professionals.
- Mentor less experienced mechanical designers.
- Handle miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering design of commercial buildings.
- Experience in plumbing/fire protection design is a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience with multi-discipline engineering teams.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT preferred.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP and other engineering software.
- Strong technical/computer skills, including Microsoft O365.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to prepare original specifications and project manuals.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national codes.
- Travel up to 10-35% for site investigations and client meetings.
