Position Overview: They are seeking a talented and highly motivated Lead Substation Structural Engineer to join our team. You will lead the design and analysis of structural components in high-voltage and medium-voltage substations. You must be a synergistic team player and an invaluable resource for their firm and their clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and analysis of structural components in high-voltage and medium-voltage substations, including foundations, support structures, bus structures, and control buildings.
- Ensure all designs adhere to national and international building codes, electrical industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations, such as load analysis, seismic analysis, wind loading, and foundation design.
- Continuously seek opportunities to optimize substation designs for cost-effectiveness, constructability, and long-term performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate projects, ensuring timely delivery and providing technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Offer technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders on structural matters related to high-voltage substations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on high-voltage substations.
- Proficient in structural analysis software, such as ETABS, L-Pile, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, etc.
- Solid understanding of national and international building codes and industry standards related to substations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, ASCE, NESC).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
