Role Overview:
You will have the opportunity to work with a trusted leader in nuclear engineering, design, and licensing, with expertise spanning small modular reactors (SMRs), advanced reactor technology (ART), and first-of-a-kind commercial reactor restart projects. This role is for a Lead Structural Engineer offering you a fantastic opportunity to further your career. In this position, you will lead a team of structural engineers, collaborate with clients and professionals from various disciplines, and oversee a range of dynamic projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your expertise in materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design to effectively complete assigned tasks.
- Engage in a diverse array of projects for various clients, maintaining necessary interactions with them.
- Oversee the creation and review of design calculations, specifications, reports, and other deliverables, while assisting designers with drawing development.
- Guide and mentor team members to ensure the production of high-quality engineering outputs.
- Conduct structural analysis and design of steel frameworks, connections, concrete components, and foundations using advanced computer tools.
- Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to project sites for construction coordination and verification of designs.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Over ten years of experience as part of a project team in the design and analysis of industrial, heavy commercial, or nuclear facility structures.
- Professional Engineer (PE) Required and Structural Engineer (SE) license Preferable.
- Skilled in using structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
- Experience in providing on-site construction support.
- Familiarity with design codes and standards like ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
