A growing, industry-leading consulting firm is looking to bring on a Lead Production Cost Modeling Engineer to join the team! This position will support and lead the growing Energy Markets group, working on projects across the US, with the ability to work 100% remote.
The Lead Production Cost Modeling Engineer will be responsible for:
- Performing production cost modeling analyses using PLEXOS, PROMOD, GridView, PROBE, or similar software
- Analyzing the transmission system and identifying potential operational and capacity savings
- Collaborate closely with transmission planning, market operations, and other teams to develop and implement strategies
The Lead Production Cost Modeling Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- BSEE or equivalent/relevant degree
- 3-5+ years of production cost modeling/energy market simulation experience
- Understanding of day-ahead and real-time power markets
- Extensive experience with one or more production cost modeling software (PROMOD, PLEXOS, PROBE, MAPS, GridView, etc.)
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or C/C++
- Knowledge of 1+ US power market (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, or NYISO preferred)
