Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Automation Controls Engineer to oversee and execute automation projects while managing assigned personnel. This role requires a balance of leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on programming and design (50-75% of the time, depending on workload). The ideal candidate will lead by example, mentor team members, and ensure the successful execution of automation projects.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a minimum of five years of experience in project engineering and/or project management within control system integration.
- Expertise in electrical design, PLCs, HMI, SCADA software, device communication protocols, and networking.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direct supervision to assigned personnel.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintain clear communication with customers regarding project status.
- Oversee electrical design and hardware specification.
- Design and program sophisticated control systems.
- Conduct system simulation, testing, and debugging in-house.
- Coordinate and oversee control system startups at client facilities.
