Job Overview: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Estimating Department, producing estimates for a variety of construction projects, including heavy civil, underground utilities, pipe rehabilitation, guide rail/sign structures, and renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop complete estimates for assigned projects, ensuring timely completion.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and review construction plans.
- Develop construction methods based on site conditions and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and instruct Estimating Engineers for support.
- Descope subcontractor quotes to ensure conformance to RFQ.
- Present and review estimates with management and submit by due dates.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or similar preferred.
- 6-8 years as an estimator and 8-10 years in field construction operations.
- Strong understanding of contract drawings, specifications, and means/methods.
- Experience with estimating software (B2W preferred) and takeoff software (Bluebeam, Agtek).
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Suite.
