Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to join their team in Santa Rosa, California. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in bidding and winning heavy road, highway, bridge, and/or utility projects. As a key member of their team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates to secure new projects and contribute to their continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including roads, highways, bridges, and utilities.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project scope and requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities related to project costs.
Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other industry contacts to obtain competitive pricing.
Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules.
Participate in project bid reviews and presentations to clients.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating heavy civil construction projects, specifically in roads, highways, bridges, and/or utilities.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
