Summary:
We are seeking an experienced MEP Director of Mechanical Engineering to join our engineering firm in Charlotte, NC. This role involves leading the mechanical engineering team, overseeing the design and implementation of mechanical systems, and ensuring the successful integration of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in various projects. This role has the potential to grow into a Director of Engineering role depending on the experience of the applicant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team, providing guidance and mentorship
- Oversee the design and implementation of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems
- Develop and review mechanical engineering designs, drawings, and specifications
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality and adherence to project requirements
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to deliver successful project outcomes
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- PE license required
- 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on MEP systems
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Proficiency in design software such as REVIT and AutoCAD
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote and in-office work
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Must be a US Citizen with a valid driver's license
