Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Fort Collins, CO. The successful candidate will work on a variety of underground and tunneling projects, contributing to the design, analysis, and construction of complex geotechnical systems. This position offers remote/hybrid flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and site assessments for underground and tunneling projects.
- Perform soil and rock mechanics analysis to determine the stability and suitability of proposed construction sites.
- Design and oversee the implementation of geotechnical solutions, including foundations, retaining structures, and ground improvement techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, structural engineers, and construction managers, to ensure project success.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including analysis, recommendations, and construction specifications.
- Monitor and evaluate construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical design and safety standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance during the construction phase of projects.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on underground and tunneling projects.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles, soil and rock mechanics, and foundation engineering.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools for analysis and design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
