About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role focuses on transportation, water infrastructure, and clean energy projects, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of critical infrastructure in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and site assessments for transportation, water infrastructure, and clean energy projects.
- Perform soil and rock sampling, testing, and analysis to determine engineering properties.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems.
- Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and construction teams to develop and implement geotechnical solutions.
- Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical recommendations and project specifications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project managers and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and advancements in geotechnical engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Mexico or the ability to obtain it within six months.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on transportation, water infrastructure, and clean energy projects.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools for analysis and design.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and slope stability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with local building codes and regulations in New Mexico.
- Familiarity with geotechnical investigation techniques and laboratory testing procedures.
- Experience in project management and client relations.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $90,000 - $125,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
