About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Glendale, California. This role focuses on residential and commercial projects, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of our community's infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and site assessments for residential and commercial projects.
- Perform soil and rock sampling, testing, and analysis to determine engineering properties.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems.
- Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and construction teams to develop and implement geotechnical solutions.
- Monitor and inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical recommendations and project specifications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project managers and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and advancements in geotechnical engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or the ability to obtain it within six months.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on residential and commercial projects.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools for analysis and design.
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and slope stability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with local building codes and regulations in California.
- Familiarity with geotechnical investigation techniques and laboratory testing procedures.
- Experience in project management and client relations.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
