Position Overview:
As the Forensic Engineer - Office Opener, you will spearhead operations in the Alpharetta office, conducting in-depth forensic investigations with a specialization in roofing systems and building envelope performance. Your role will involve site inspections, failure analyses, reporting, and client engagement, while building a local presence for the firm. This position requires a combination of technical acumen, leadership, and business development skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct forensic investigations of roofing system failures, weather-related damages, and building envelope issues.
- Perform on-site inspections, document conditions, and collect evidence to determine root causes of failures.
- Prepare detailed technical reports outlining findings, conclusions, and remediation recommendations.
- Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings when necessary.
- Develop and manage relationships with local clients, including insurance adjusters, attorneys, contractors, and property owners.
- Build and lead a local team of engineers and administrative staff as the office grows.
- Represent the firm at industry events and networking opportunities to build the firm's presence in the region.
- Collaborate with other offices to ensure consistency in deliverables and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or other relevant degrees; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of forensic engineering experience, with a strong focus on roofing systems.
- In-depth knowledge of roofing materials, installation practices, and failure mechanisms.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presenting expert testimony.
- Proven ability to work independently and establish new processes or operations.
