This is EHS and Sustainability consulting firm is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager with strong technical, operations, and leadership skills. This role will involve a mix of technical, financial, and interpersonal responsibilities, working closely with a team of engineers, scientists, health and safety specialists, and subcontractors. You will lead various environmental projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams on a variety of environmental assignments, including work plan and proposal preparation, remedial actions, report writing, regulatory interactions, and corrective action design and implementation.
- Conduct site assessments (soil and groundwater), oversee UST removal and excavation, and manage health and safety procedures.
- Manage environmental investigations and assessments, including Phase I/II/III Environmental Site Assessments.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and negotiate site closure.
- Mentor and train junior staff, conduct performance evaluations, and manage subcontractors.
- Occasional travel (up to 15%) may be required for site visits, project kickoffs, and emergency responses.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of environmental project management experience.
- Certifications: Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington State required. 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (can be provided for the right candidate).
- Experience in:
- Environmental remediation, regulatory compliance, and due diligence.
- Petroleum terminal and pipeline, railroad, chemical, and UST projects.
- Driving projects through regulatory programs and negotiating site closure.
- Washington State Department of Ecology's Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) and associated regulatory experience.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
- Proactive, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong technical writing skills and experience managing subcontractors.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- This position is based in Redmond, WA, with flexibility for remote work as projects allow.
- Occasional fieldwork may be required, involving physical activities such as lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods. Fieldwork may expose you to outdoor environmental conditions and potential hazards, including working with moving vehicles and chemicals.
- A medical surveillance/fitness-for-duty exam may be required for field assignments.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
