We are looking for an experienced leader to oversee the strategic growth and direction of the Midwest region as an Environmental Area Director.
You will be responsible for dynamically and profitably expanding the Environmental practice, including overseeing the engineering and design-build business. This encompasses sales, recruitment, business plan development, and growth strategies for the region. Key responsibilities also include risk management, staff development, project delivery, and ensuring the profitable execution of projects.
Responsibilities Include:
- Development and implementation of strategic business plans to expand the firm's Environmental practice.
- Develop and implement the strategic business plan to expand the firm's Environmental practice in the region, including enhancing existing relationships within the regional marketplace.
- Manage client relationships and manage team activities
- Lead market awareness initiatives, including involvement in professional associations, technical articles, conferences, and boards.
- Identify and recruit key individuals to grow the practice area and support key national initiatives.
- Partner with other branch offices and national environmental teams to facilitate strong working relationships and share in business development
- Expand and grow the business in the Midwest Region
- Ensure implementation of quality control guidelines
- Serve as a technical specialist and advisor for project team(s)
- Recruitment and development of staff
- Manage and optimize staff performance
- Lead and communicate organizational goals
- Foster team unity and succession planning
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, science or related field
- 10+ years of experience working in a senior management/leadership capacity
- Experience in Project Management, business development, and client facing activities
- Proven expertise in management: Integrating and coordinating diverse areas, solving complex problems, balancing multiple tasks, and making rapid administrative decisions. Demonstrated ability to apply intensive and diversified knowledge to broad assignments.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills: Establishing connections with Board members, committees, volunteers, staff, donors, and clients. Developing constructive relationships with executive colleagues, outside agencies, organizations, and individuals. Conveying a professional and positive image and attitude.
- Leadership and motivational abilities: Commitment to results, business acumen, leading change, and motivating teams. Experience in philanthropy and community relations. Skills in functioning as a leader, displaying integrity, modeling excellent behaviour, developing people, and building teams.
- Outstanding communication skills: Excellent oral and written communication, making formal, persuasive presentations to groups, and effectively dealing with community members.
Location: Candidates should be located in Ohio or Missouri
Salary: $150,000 - $250,000 / year
