Engineering Manager
Location: Alexandria, VA
My client is seeking a dynamic professional to serve as Engineering Manager in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This individual will be responsible for leading four key efforts in the Northern Virginia region: 1) Project Management, 2) Technical Leadership, 3) Team Growth, and 4) Business Development.
Projects will focus on municipal, private, and industrial market sectors. The role's primary goals include project leadership and management, proposal development, basis-of-design, project and team oversight, quality reviews, team mentoring, recruiting, hiring, and expanding my client's presence in Virginia.

Responsibilities
Provide expert professional engineering design services.
Maintain knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
Review, analyze, and assess systems while making recommendations.
Coordinate with company leaders and managers on initiatives and project commitments.
Lead business development efforts, including the expansion of the Virginia portfolio.
Recruit and support the growth of the Virginia engineering team.
Conduct preliminary assessments and develop high-level project strategies.
Perform field investigations and condition assessments of existing systems.
Prepare proposals, including statements of qualifications.
Develop basis-of-design scopes of work and schematics.
Present reports and findings to clients and stakeholders.
Make informed decisions that benefit clients, projects, and teams.
Meet with clients to lead and support projects through design and construction phases.
Review and mentor staff to build technical expertise and skill sets.
Lead and collaborate with teams for collective success.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering.
PE license required.
Proven experience leading and managing multiple technical areas of engineering.
Capable of conducting QA/QC on assigned tasks and projects.
Ability to develop construction documents and support bidding and construction implementation.
Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal staff and clients.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with AutoCAD/Revit software is a plus.
Knowledge of building modeling is a plus.

Salary Range
$150,000 - $225,000
