Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to oversee all engineering operations, including budgeting, scheduling, directing subordinates, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines, and communication with management staff.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee all engineering operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and directing subordinates.
* Coordinate, prioritize, and distribute workload within the engineering department to ensure efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff to meet deadlines.
* Understand project scope of work and communicate this scope to support staff.
* Monitor and maintain project budgets and productivity.
* Advise and assist engineers and staff with company policy, process, and methods.
* Oversee the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for various development projects in both the public and private sectors.
* Oversee and design grading, drainage, paving, sewer, water, street lighting, road alignment, geometrics, shed maps, and erosion control plans.
* Work closely with CAD Supervisor, Project Managers, Engineers, and Surveyors to obtain project information and ensure drawings are accurate and complete.
* Conduct project research, verify utility connection information, and determine if additional field information is required for design.
* Coordinate with the Surveying Department to obtain required information.
* Identify critical project requirements such as Right-of-Entry, off-site easements, sub-consultant studies, and other agency permits.
* Provide clear, concise redline sketches for grading and street sections, utility hardware details, and other site improvement details.
* Direct the work of Drafters and Technicians by providing plans, specifications, and written and verbal instructions.
* Perform civil design calculations, including cost estimates, drainage, sewer studies, voltage drop, and pressure drop calculations.
* Research code issues and work with City, State, and County officials. Understand jurisdictional standards, policies, and local design procedural manuals.
* Review drawings supplied by vendors, clients, engineers, and architects, recommending necessary changes.
* Resolve complex problems such as conflicting design requirements and difficult coordination requirements.
* Review all work for completeness and accuracy before submitting to agencies.
* Stamp and sign improvement plans and reports.
* Coordinate with other engineers, technicians, and administrative assistants during preliminary and final plan preparation and submittal.
* Deliver plans to clients and government authorities for final signatures as required.
* Draft written communication to clients and public agencies, such as transmittal and response memos.
* Serve as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and the design team.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
* Extensive experience in project management and civil engineering.
* Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and standards.
* Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
