Position Summary
Assist senior engineers in designing electrical systems for various clients. Collaborate with the design team and Project Manager to meet project goals efficiently. This hybrid role requires at least 3 days per week in the Voorhees, NJ office.
Responsibilities
- Conduct engineering calculations, prepare single line diagrams, size electrical components, perform short circuit analysis, and draft technical specifications.
- Regularly review projects to ensure they meet departmental standards, client requirements, and budget constraints.
- Design, layout, and verify electrical systems drawings for technical accuracy, adhering to relevant standards and codes.
- Perform site surveys, energy audits, attend project meetings, and provide field construction support as needed.
- Coordinate with facility owners and architects, ensuring high levels of responsiveness and communication.
- Review shop drawings and manage construction administration.
Requirements
- Knowledge of local, state, and national code requirements (IEEE, NFPA, Joint Meeting, FGI Guidelines).
- Experience with lighting and electrical load analysis software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong time management skills, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions.
- Effective collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying complex ideas, strong technical writing, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in English.
Education and Experience
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in designing electrical systems for critical care and/or laboratory facilities.
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD or Revit and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred or working towards licensure.
