A leading global consulting & engineering firm is seeking an Electrical Designer III. This individual will ensure that systems and equipment are designed, installed and maintained to meet safety standards and operation requirements. You will work on projects ranging from power plants to manufacturing facilities, focusing on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems. Our projects include Hydrogen Electrolysis, Ammonia Production Facilities, Renewable Natural Gas Processing, Emissions Reduction Studies, Carbon Capture and Sequestration, Wastewater, Pharmaceuticals
Process Engineer Responsibilities:
- Proven ability to successfully complete and lead projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience creating one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and physical layout drawings (e.g., lighting, grounding, and electrical area classification plans) with limited guidance.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to produce project deliverables independently.
- Skilled in interpreting and drafting P&IDs, electrical, and instrumentation drawings from red lines using company or client drafting standards.
- Proficient in AutoCAD tasks, including 3D modeling, electrical one-line diagrams, lighting and power plans, and PLC and junction box details with wiring diagrams.
- Track work details and communicate updates with supervisors as needed.
- Continuously develop and refine technical skills and knowledge.
- Maintain professionalism in interactions with office and team members.
- Build and sustain constructive relationships with project design team members.
- Willing to travel as needed for project requirements.
- Conduct site visits to observe construction and operational phases.
Qualifications:
- 4-10 years of experience in industries such as oil and gas, process control, manufacturing, or fabrication is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D design is essential; experience with CADWorx is a plus.
- Competence in MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Strong background in design, drafting, and 3D modeling.
- Skilled in using current engineering design and drafting software tools.
- Practical knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications.
- Ability to effectively complete routine tasks in collaboration with a supervisor.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to apply standard electrical design and analysis methods under the guidance of experienced electrical engineers.
- Capable of logically organizing work and managing priorities.
- Strong listening skills with the ability to ask clarifying questions as needed.
- Open to suggestions and constructive feedback on planning and organizational improvements.
- Proactively seeks assistance to navigate and resolve conflicts, ensuring task progression.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills that are clear, organized, and persuasive.
