Title: Electrical Designer
Location: Charlotte, NC
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Designer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This role involves providing technical and design services to support electrical design projects, producing construction drawings and specifications for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design effort on various projects, both large and small
- Coordinate with engineering and other disciplines on the project team
- Perform calculations including lighting, voltage drop, and load calculations
- Follow company standards in creating electrical drawings
- Provide field support, including field verifications for retrofit applications, as-built documentation, and Construction Administration
- Develop electrical construction drawings from project scope (e.g., exterior lighting, interior lighting, power plans, systems plans, fire alarm system plans, grounding systems, details, single lines/riser diagrams, and panel schedules)
- Travel for projects as needed
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or Associate's Degree with adequate drafting experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology
- 5+ years of experience in Electrical Design (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies)
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, Building Codes, and Energy Codes
- Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare, or Aviation is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, and Visual Lighting design software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple projects
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Must be a US Citizen with a valid driver's license
