We are looking for a detail-oriented Electrical BIM Lead to support my client's Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) initiatives for data center projects in the DMV area. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with BIM software, excellent collaboration skills, and a strong understanding of construction processes, particularly within electrical systems. This role ensures that BIM/VDC deliverables meet project requirements, facilitating seamless design and construction coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model Development: Create, update, and maintain detailed 3D models of electrical systems using Revit and other BIM tools.
- Coordination: Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure accurate model integration and coordination between trades.
- Clash Detection: Conduct clash detection using Navisworks or similar software and work with stakeholders to resolve conflicts.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain BIM documentation, including model data, design changes, and coordination drawings.
- Support BIM Standards: Adhere to and enforce company and project-specific BIM standards and workflows.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage BIM tools to enhance visualization, planning, and construction sequencing.
- Quality Assurance: Review and validate models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to BIM workflows and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in BIM/VDC coordination, preferably in electrical design or construction.
- Experience with data center or mission-critical projects is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and their integration into building designs.
- Familiarity with clash detection, resolution processes, and model management.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Dynamo, BIM 360, or other advanced BIM platforms.
- Knowledge of prefabrication workflows and modular construction techniques.
- Understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling.
- BIM-related certifications (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
