LVI Associates is representing a top-tier engineering firm based in Concord, CA, seeking a dynamic and experienced Structural Project Manager. This role involves leading a team of structural engineers and drafters on various projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality structural designs. You will act as the primary liaison for project coordination within the structural team and with other disciplines such as architecture and MEP. Additionally, you will oversee the Construction Administration Phase, managing shop drawings, RFIs, site visits, and OAC meetings. Your Impact:
- Lead coordination meetings with various disciplines and participate in design review sessions with supervisors, clients, and owners.
- Engage in work sessions with owner-client agencies to discuss project scope and structural design methodologies.
- Oversee the design and documentation process to ensure timely completion of construction documents within budget constraints.
- Develop and maintain structural specifications, select construction procedures, determine materials and member sizes, and perform necessary design calculations.
- Review and manage shop drawings, RFIs, change proposal requests, and change orders, incorporating changes into project documents as needed.
- Communicate design and coordination details effectively to project team members through written and verbal means, and author comprehensive engineering reports, memos, and email correspondence.
- Conduct site observations and walks during construction, providing detailed reports based on findings.
Here's What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Structural Engineering license, S.E. in your state of residence, if applicable.
- A minimum of 5+ years of full-time progressive structural engineering experience is required.
- Three or more years of experience in multi-discipline project team leadership preferred.
- Strong understanding of state building codes and all applicable design codes including ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, NDS, etc.
- Proficiency in common structural engineering and office tools including ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.
- Proficiency in the design of various structural materials including steel, concrete, masonry, wood, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
