Summary:
This leading provider of geospatial and construction services, offering innovative solutions in land surveying, aerial mapping, utility engineering, and subsurface utility engineering is seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor to lead and oversee their Survey Department. This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving the strategic direction, operational excellence, and technical proficiency of their surveying services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing teams and complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Survey Department.
- Manage and mentor a team of survey professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of surveying projects, ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with industry regulations.
- Develop and implement departmental goals, objectives, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to support land development, construction, and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure the efficient utilization of survey technologies, including GPS, GIS, and 3D scanning tools.
- Maintain professional licensure and ensure the department's adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) required.
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in land surveying, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical expertise in boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
- Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and project timelines effectively.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with surveying software and technologies (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, etc.).
