The Role
The Director of Building Engineering will play a pivotal role in driving the success and profitability of the business units. This individual will lead a team of skilled professionals, ensuring the highest standards of performance and client service. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the profitability of each business unit.
- Direct and manage staff within the business unit.
- Prioritize worklists and organize field work schedules with Office Admin.
- Set fees and create proposals.
- Conduct performance reviews and recommend new staff hires.
- Recommend and facilitate training programs.
- Perform engineering work related to the business unit.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality services, including structural inspections, building condition assessments, environmental site assessments, structural engineering and design, plan review and stamping, AutoCAD, Revit, site plan approvals, building permit drawings, OBC review, project management for building permits, and site inspections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation.
- Extensive experience in building engineering and architectural design.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Knowledge of OBC and other relevant regulations.
