We are seeking a skilled and experienced Control Engineer with expertise in PLC and HMI programming, specifically with Allen-Bradley systems, to join our team in Dallas, TX. This role focuses on industrial automation projects across various industries, including manufacturing, material handling, and process control. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing control systems to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and program PLC and HMI applications, primarily using Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) platforms such as ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and PanelView.
Design, implement, and maintain control systems for industrial automation processes.
Troubleshoot and optimize existing PLC/HMI systems to improve performance and reliability.
Integrate control systems with SCADA, VFDs, robotics, and other industrial equipment.
Perform on-site commissioning, testing, and debugging of control systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless automation solutions.
Develop technical documentation, including control logic diagrams, system architecture, and operational manuals.
Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance personnel.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards (UL, NEC, NFPA, OSHA, etc.).
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and reduce downtime.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in PLC/HMI programming in an industrial automation setting.
Expertise in Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) control systems, including RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View.
Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, DeviceNet, ControlNet, etc.).
Experience with VFDs, motion control, sensors, and robotics integration.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel occasionally for project commissioning and support.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SCADA systems and IIoT technologies.
Knowledge of other PLC brands such as Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Schneider Electric.
Familiarity with SQL databases and data logging for industrial applications.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related process improvement methodologies.
