Job Description
A highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer is sought, preferably with expertise in the food and beverage or life sciences industries.
The individual will play a key role in developing real-time automation solutions, spanning from the manufacturing plant floor to the enterprise level. This includes leveraging a variety of programming, configuration, and design tools such as PLC and PAC programming, operator interface and HMI application design, SCADA design, network design, database design, vision system design, and more.

Primary Responsibilities
- Engineering and implementing real-time automation controls and information solutions
- Conceptualizing solutions during the design phase of the project lifecycle
- System programming, debugging, and testing
- Developing documentation, including project engineering notes, proposals, design traceability documentation, case studies, etc.
- Commissioning new solutions at client sites and identifying improvement opportunities
- Creating methodologies and solving complex problems
- Learning and adapting to new technologies
- Mentoring colleagues in areas of expertise
- Embracing challenges and fostering a positive, engaging work environment
Technologies Used
- PLC Programming Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Modicon, GE, etc.
- HMI Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Wonderware, Schneider Electric, etc.
- SCADA Platforms: Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Inductive Automation, Wonderware, GE, Siemens, etc.
- System Networking: Ethernet, routing and switching, EthernetIP, Profibus; experience with DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, Remote IO, Modbus (preferred but not required)
- Vision Platforms: Cognex, Datalogic, Keyence, etc.
- Experience with Python, Historian (PI System), and databases is considered a plus
- Project documentation using Microsoft Office
Qualifications
- Completion or near completion of a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering Technology degree
- Academic or professional experience with some or all of the technologies listed above
- Meticulous, conscientious, analytical, focused, and self-motivated with a strong ability to learn quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A valid driver's license
- Full-time access to a personal vehicle
