Job Title: Commissioning/Energy Engineer
Location: NYC OR DC Metro Area
Looking for a highly motivated Commissioning/Energy Engineer to join with a top client with offices in NYC and the DC Metro area. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the client's buildings and systems are performing optimally and efficiently. You will work closely with project managers, design engineers, and construction teams to ensure that building systems are properly designed, installed, and commissioned.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the commissioning process for building systems, including HVAC, lighting, electrical, and control systems.
- Develop and execute commissioning plans, including functional testing, system performance verification, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and identify system performance issues, and work with design engineers and construction teams to implement corrective actions.
- Analyze building energy consumption data to identify opportunities for energy savings and optimization.
- Develop energy models and conduct energy audits to identify and prioritize energy conservation measures.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and project teams.
- Provide training to building operators and maintenance personnel on proper system operation and maintenance practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in building commissioning and energy efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in building commissioning, energy auditing, or related field.
- Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, lighting, electrical, and control systems.
- Experience with energy modeling software and energy auditing tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Professional engineering license preferred.
- Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification preferred.
