Commissioning Engineer

Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Chicago. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of a Project Engineer or another assigned supervisor and collaborate with the project team to handle commissioning, retro-commissioning, or energy analysis on various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to solve complex problems related to engineering design and site installations, including special studies, analyses, testing, and troubleshooting existing systems.
- Perform field survey work, including obtaining amp, volt, power readings, minimum OA measurements, IAQ parameters, control set points, and rotational speed of equipment.
- Understand and operate air distribution systems, central cooling plants, CHW/CW distribution, central boiler/cogeneration plants, steam generation, and hot water distribution.
- Prepare field observation reports and punch lists.
- Develop pre-functional, functional, and point-to-point checklists.
- Create systems manuals and produce accurate, well-written technical correspondence and reports.
- Participate in the development of standard technical procedures and master documents as requested.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on field experience in commissioning (Cx) and/or retro-commissioning (RCx) work.
- Experience in healthcare facilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of Codes/Standards, materials, details, and construction techniques.
- Basic understanding of civil engineering, structural engineering, and architectural practices to ensure integrated and coordinated engineering efforts.
