Their team in Chantilly, VA, is growing, and we are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Geotechnical/CMT Project Manager to join.
Job Description: As a Senior Geotechnical/CMT Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and leading a variety of geotechnical and construction materials testing projects. You will oversee project execution, ensure technical excellence, and maintain strong client relationships. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Manage multiple geotechnical and CMT projects simultaneously, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively.
- Proposal Development: Prepare project proposals, including scope, budget, and schedule, and participate in client presentations.
- Team Management: Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Field Work: Conduct site visits, field investigations, and oversee testing activities as necessary.
- Reporting: Prepare and review technical reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, contributing to the growth of the company.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and/or construction materials testing, with at least 5 years in a project management role.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
- Skills: Strong technical knowledge in geotechnical engineering and CMT, excellent project management skills, and proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, gINT, and Microsoft Office).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience in mentoring and developing staff.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
