Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated CMT Department Manager to join our Dulles, Virginia office. The Department Manager will coordinate the efforts of engineers, technicians, special inspectors, and sub-consultants to deliver results that exceed our clients' expectations on every project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of engineers, project managers, and technicians to provide exceptional client service on multiple projects.
- Develop and manage technician and project schedules and budgets.
- Oversee all construction materials testing and lab management projects.
- Ensure project profitability and client satisfaction.
- Author and review technical reports and letters.
- Develop proposals to win profitable projects.
- Mentor and manage junior and senior CMT field and laboratory staff.
- Participate in the hiring process of new engineers, technicians, and special inspectors.
- Maintain lab accreditations and staff certifications.
- Uphold our mission statement and core values in all aspects of work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related fields.
- PE License required, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- 5+ years of experience in construction materials testing and inspections.
- Proven experience leading teams to meet organizational goals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
