Overview
An established civil engineering firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Civil/Site team in Allentown, PA. The Project Manager will oversee project management, client relations, and team leadership while ensuring profitability and quality in project design. This role involves managing project budgets, supervising staff, preparing proposals and invoices, and leading technical design efforts. The ideal candidate will work with AutoCAD and collaborate with office staff and senior management to complete projects within set budgets and timelines.
Responsibilities
-Ensure technical accuracy, adherence to engineering standards, and proper documentation across plans, reports, and design documents.
-Oversee design tasks, such as conceptual planning, grading, and drainage designs for civil engineering projects, with a focus on value engineering.
-Conduct ordinance reviews, research utility services, respond to external agencies, and perform site visits during construction to address project issues.
Perform quality control for all project deliverables.
-Identify challenges, evaluate alternatives, and propose solutions to peers and management.
-Develop schedules and construction timelines for assigned projects.
-Manage multiple deadlines and oversee various projects simultaneously.
-Prepare project proposals, schedules, and change orders.
-Handle financial management tasks, including invoice preparation, monitoring accounts receivable, and maintaining project profitability.
-Lead and mentor junior staff, providing technical training and guidance.
-Maintain consistent client communication, offering updates and discussing project-specific concerns.
-Follow established AutoCAD standards for layering, details, and other technical aspects.
-Perform additional related duties as needed.
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
-7+ years of experience in site design.
-Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
-Familiarity with Pennsylvania land use processes and regulations.
-Proficiency in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrology, grading, and other site development designs.
-Experience in land development.
-Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, with the ability to mentor junior staff.
-Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with colleagues, clients, and regulatory agencies.
-Attention to detail with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
-Preferred experience in construction oversight.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Dedication to organization, responsiveness, and meeting deadlines.
-Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English for professional communication.
