Civil Engineering Business Development Leader
Job Summary:
Seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Civil Engineering Business Development Leader to join my client's growing team. This role combines business development and technical expertise, allowing you to drive client relationships while contributing to the delivery of exceptional civil engineering solutions. You will identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, and lead project efforts from conception through completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Develop and execute strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities in the civil engineering market.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote services and build connections.
- Collaborate with marketing and leadership teams to develop winning proposals and presentations.
Technical Expertise:
- Act as a technical expert, providing guidance and oversight to project teams.
- Integrate business goals with technical deliverables to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
Leadership & Team Collaboration:
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to their technical and professional growth.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Actively participate in strategic planning to align business development efforts with company objectives.
Market Analysis:
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the civil engineering space.
- Provide insights and recommendations to leadership to help shape the company's market positioning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in a client-facing or business development role.
- Proven track record of identifying and winning new business opportunities in the engineering or construction sector.
- Strong technical background in civil engineering, including experience in site development, grading, and stormwater management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in project management software and engineering design tools such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Active participation in relevant industry organizations is a plus.

Salary Range: $150-200k
