As a Senior Building Envelope Consultant, you will handle a variety of large repair and restoration design projects, forensic inspections, and occasional historic restorations. The company seeks someone who aligns with their collaborative culture and growth mindset, as they plan to double their current headcount through strategic senior hires. The ideal candidate would be a project manager looking to benefit from the collaboration and individual development offered by this established firm.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a range of structural restoration design projects from start to finish.
- Conduct field investigations, including water leakage and non-destructive testing (travel required).
- Design and draft repair drawings and details.
- Prepare construction documents, such as repair drawings and specifications.
- Oversee the construction and installation of repairs/designs in the field, including quality assurance testing.
- Prepare site visit reports and meeting minutes.
- Interact with project clients, sub-consultants, and repair contractors.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in structural repair design or building enclosure consulting.
- PE or RA licensure in North Carolina is ideal.
- RRO or RRC credentials are desired but not required.
- Experience as an end-to-end project manager on restoration projects.
- Must be autonomous with a growth mindset and strong communication skills.
