We have exclusively partnered with an upcoming AEC firm in Charlotte who are looking for an experienced building enclosure consultant to add to their growing team. On top of that, this firm do not take on any small residential projects and you can expect to work on a range of commercial and municipal buildings for local governments and building owners.
As a Senior Building Envelope Consultant, you can expect to take on a range of large repair and restoration design projects as well as some forensic inspections and the occasional historic restoration. The company are looking for somebody who fits their collaborative culture and growth mindset as they have plans to double their current headcount through strategic senior hires. An ideal candidate would be a project manager at a larger firm who feels they could benefit from the collaboration and individual development that would come with joining their established boutique firm in Charlotte.
Responsibilities
- Manage a range of structural restoration design projects from end to end.
- Perform field investigations, including water leakage, non-destructive testing, travel required
- Perform modelling of enclosure assemblies using different software
- Analyse proposed repair/design options
- Design and draft repair drawings and details
- Prepare construction documents such as repair drawings and specifications
- Observe construction and installation of repairs/designs in the field, including quality assurance testing
- Prepare site visit reports and meeting minutes
- Interact with project clients, sub-consultants, and repair contractors
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with structural repair design or building enclosure consulting.
- PE or RA licensure in North Carolina is ideal
- RRO or RRC credentials are also desired but not required
- Experience as an end-to-end project manager on restoration projects.
- Must be autonomous with a growth mindset and good communication skills
