Summary
Our client is seeking a Proposal Engineer to coordinate technical requirements between our company and customers, ensuring optimal configurations and pricing for proposals in the Battery Energy Storage Systems sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and public bids to determine the best-fit solution.
- Prepare technical configurations, sizing, and detailed cost estimates, including equipment, materials, labor, and subcontractor costs.
- Develop comprehensive technical and economic proposals for turnkey BESS solutions.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendor teams to obtain competitive pricing and ensure material availability.
- Present technical proposals and solutions to clients, addressing their needs and demonstrating value propositions.
- Work closely with sales teams to define regional value propositions.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, R&D, and purchasing teams to evaluate costs, technology, and supplier selection.
- Support legal and sales teams in defining scope of supply, contractual conditions, warranties, and project schedules.
- Travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%) and participate in meetings at company plants and branches.
Stakeholder Relationships
External: Customers, distributors, technical experts, and other industry stakeholders.
Internal: Senior management, customer service, technical support, project teams, and finance.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
- MBA (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in proposal or sales engineering for utility-scale renewable energy EPC projects.
- Experience with power electronics, ISO standards, and interaction with utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), and project developers.
- Experience with TSOs, DSOs, DoE, and DoD is a plus.
- Proven experience working in a multinational environment.
