A Fortune 1000 diversified energy company is seeking an Associate Engineer II to assist with developing new opportunities and reviewing electrical design drawings and calculations for renewable energy projects. This role involves overseeing project construction and contributing to the development of specifications to execute project plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and provide feedback on electrical design and vendor equipment drawings, including layouts, one-lines, and grounding
- Assist with electrical calculations for short circuits, grounding, voltage drop, and relay coordination
- Participate in site inspections and report any deficiencies
- Contribute to equipment specifications and commissioning programs for new solar projects
- Create array layouts and drawings using AutoCAD
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, or civil preferred)
- 1-2 years of experience in engineering or construction management, with a focus on renewable energy
- Fundamentals of Engineering exam passing score
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and solar project design preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD, PVSyst, and MS Office
- Strong communication skills and ability to travel (25%-35%)
