Title: Associate Director of Electrical Engineering

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Electrical Engineering to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This role involves providing technical and design services to support electrical design projects, producing construction drawings and specifications. The position offers significant growth potential, with the opportunity to advance to the Director of Electrical Engineering in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design efforts on various projects, both large and small
- Manage design schedules and team members
- Collaborate directly with Architects and Owners
- Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to projects
- Mentor senior and junior-level staff
- Prepare various written reports and meeting minutes
- Produce and lead the creation of design documents (drawings and specifications)
- Travel for projects nationally and internationally
- Provide Quality Control (QC) to ensure adherence to codes, standards, and project requirements
- Serve as a technical consultant for planning, design, and construction of various facilities
- Assist in determining departmental resources and long-term planning
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities
- Serve as the individual in responsible charge of projects (DOR)
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering with PE Registration and the ability to be licensed by comity in other states
- 15+ years of experience in Electrical Design (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies)
- Extensive knowledge of the National Electric Code
- Strong understanding of Building Codes, NFPA Codes, and Energy Codes
- Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare, or Aviation is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to work as part of a team and manage multiple projects
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Must be a US Citizen with a valid driver's license
- LEED AP certification preferred
