Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transmission Line Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This position will involve significant travel to various project sites to assist in the successful execution and management of transmission line construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical infrastructure projects, with experience or a keen interest in project management, safety compliance, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Support: Assist the Project Manager in the overall planning, execution, and close-out of transmission line projects. Help coordinate resources, materials, and personnel to meet project timelines and objectives.
Site Supervision: Travel to various construction sites and monitor daily activities. Ensure that work is being completed according to the approved plans, schedule, and safety standards.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, including project progress reports, daily logs, change orders, and any required documentation for project audits. Communicate project status updates to stakeholders.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities comply with safety regulations and company standards. Participate in safety meetings and monitor site-specific safety conditions.
Budget and Cost Control: Assist with tracking project budgets, identifying potential cost overruns, and helping implement corrective actions as needed to stay within financial guidelines.
Vendor and Contractor Management: Support the management of contractors and suppliers. Assist in scheduling, coordinating, and communicating with external parties involved in the project.
Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of work to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Address any quality issues promptly and help coordinate necessary corrective actions.
Problem Solving: Identify and address potential project challenges, such as delays, resource shortages, or scope changes, in coordination with the Project Manager.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience: 2+ years of experience in transmission line construction, electrical infrastructure projects, or a related field. Previous project management experience is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, or similar tools).
- Basic understanding of transmission line design and construction processes.
Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively to project sites (50%-75% of the time).
Certifications: OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, or other safety certifications are a plus.
