Job Title: Asphalt Paving Superintendent

As we expand, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Asphalt Paving Superintendent to join our team and oversee the successful execution of paving operations.
Job Summary:
The Asphalt Paving Superintendent will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities related to the asphalt paving process. This includes managing field crews, ensuring quality control, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring the timely completion of projects within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of paving operations, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, foremen, and subcontractors to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Paving Crews: Oversee day-to-day operations of the paving crew, including scheduling, training, and evaluating team performance.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with the project manager to develop project schedules, ensuring that all asphalt paving projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Quality Control: Monitor paving activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
- Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols to ensure the health and safety of all employees, equipment, and the work site.
- Equipment Management: Oversee the proper use and maintenance of paving equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Client and Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to keep them informed of project progress, changes, and any challenges.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the paving process, such as material inconsistencies, equipment malfunctions, or delays.
- Document Management: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, equipment deployed, and labor hours.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of asphalt paving techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced and safety-conscious environment.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (preferred), as well as any other relevant industry certifications.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Travel: Ability to travel to various job sites around the Tampa area.
