We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Asbestos Specialist to join our team in Los Angeles County. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for environmental safety and who are experienced in asbestos management, inspection, and remediation. As an Asbestos Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting asbestos-related inspections, overseeing remediation projects, and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations. The successful candidate must possess CSST (Certified Site Surveillance Technician) certification and have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive asbestos inspections and surveys for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Perform air monitoring and clearance testing during asbestos removal projects.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation, including reports and assessments, for compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure safety protocols and environmental standards are met.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for asbestos management and abatement.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, safety standards, and regulatory changes.
- Travel to job sites within the region, including potential out-of-county locations, with up to 30% travel required.
Qualifications:
- CSST (Certified Site Surveillance Technician) certification is required.
- Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in asbestos inspection, removal, and remediation.
- In-depth knowledge of asbestos regulations and safety standards, including OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential asbestos hazards and risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
